60th Anniversary of the Death of the Founder

To mark the 60th anniversary of the death of the Founder on 26 July 2022, the Ecclesiastical Assistant Fr Kevin Schembri celebrated Mass at the house where St George Preca died. Members of the SDC Administration were present.
Additionally, two pilgrimages were organised by the Fgura and Ħaż-Żabbar SDC Centres on 25 and 26 July respectively. These included Mass in the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and a talk on the Founder. The pilgrims also had time to pray and to visit Preca Library.
The opening hours of the Chapel were extended and several members, candidates, and devotees, spent time praying silently in front of the remains of St George Preca.
Male and female members and candidates gathered on Wednesday 27 July for a celebratory General Meeting which was held at St Michael School. The theme of the meeting was ‘… that we become holy…’. It included prayers, hymns, a reading of the account of the death of the Founder, and a recording of St George Preca preaching. Reflections were shared by Jonathan Cardona, the Superior General and the Ecclesiastical Assistant.
