Between the 19 and the 22 February 2024, the Poznan SDC Centre organized a tour and live-in for the Preparatory, Elects and Candidate groups in the cities next to the Baltic Sea. Fifteen young people between the ages of 15 and 21 attended. Apart from the recreational dimension, this event had a socio-cultural and a spiritual one. The following are two experiences shared by Matteusz M. and Szymon:
The whole group stayed overnight in Mechelinki, where there were rooms for rent. I found them not to be the best, but comfortable enough for everyone. Responsibilities were divided between members, candidates and elects e.g. Rainer led the trip, Mateusz took care of the silence at night, Piotrek and Igor took care of the second breakfast, Szymon led various prayers and so on. During this trip, we met another youth group located in Gdynia, whose goal was to help people in need. It also turned out that people belonging to this group combine unique artistic and vocal skills. The purpose of our trip was also to deepen the relationship between our group, which in my case turned out to be effective. I managed to learn more about people in my age group, especially Janek and the younger Marcel, while also talking about various topics with Rainer and had joking conversations with Adam the candidate. I believe this trip accomplished all of its goals by improving relationships among those in the group and with God through prayers of the Watch and the Holy Rosary.
During the holidays, our group went to Tricity. The trip lasted 4 days from Monday to Thursday and even though it wasn’t much time, we managed to visit many interesting places. The stadium in Gdańsk, Westerplatte, are just some of them. We also had the opportunity to meet a youth group from Gdynia and share our testimony with them. It was a very successful trip for us, also in terms of getting to know each other better, we spent a lot of time together. During the trip I think it was great to see how well-coordinated a group we are. Of course, there was plenty of space for God through frequent prayers and Holy Mass.
