Establishing an SDC Outreach in Kiratina (Kenya)

The members and candidates of the Ruiru SDC Centre, together with Philip Bezzina GEC, visited Kiratina Outstation dedicated to St George Preca on Sunday 3 September 2023. Kiratina is an area around 13 km from Ruiru and is part of Juja Farm Catholic Parish dedicated to the Presentation of the Lord and run by the Mariannhill Missionaries.
During the visit, members shared information about the Founder and the SDC, whilst some candidates shared their experience of the SDC in Ruiru. The members then invited the leaders of the Kiratina Outstation to visit the Ruiru SDC Centre. The visit was held on Sunday 17 September. The group was shown around the premises and a question-and-answer session with the candidates about their experience in the SDC was held. Then Mario Bezzina and Philip Bezzina shared reflections on St George Preca, on the founding of the SDC and the missions of the SDC. Superior Tonio Callus finally shared information on the apostolate held at the Ruiru Centre. Afterwards an informal discussion continued over tea.
Following further discussions and meetings, the SDC established an outreach in Kiratina on 15 October 2023. The members visited the outstation again, and Fr Nicholas, the parish priest, announced that the SDC will start holding catechism and faith formation sessions on Sundays.
The SDC praises the Lord for blessing it with another opportunity to make Christ loved and known.
