On December 20, 2024, the SDC Centre of St Albans in Melbourne, concluded its year-long activities with a vibrant Christmas celebration. The event featured a youth role play titled “God’s Kingdom is Coming,” led by SDC Member Tony Gatt, highlighting the importance of caring for the marginalised in the community. Children and youth, who attended the SDC Centre throughout the year, received handmade Christmas gifts, including cribs, nativity scene statues, and wooden plaques with holy pictures. The Samoan choir and children from the SDC Centre performed Christmas carols, while Sup Noel Debono delivered a message emphasising the importance of faith supported by parents. Dignitaries such as Mr. Mario F. Borg from the Maltese High Commission, Ms. Gioconda Schembri from the Victorian Consul General for Malta, and Ms. Victoria Borg, a local Councillor for Brimbank, attended the event. Steven Ho, portraying St. Nicholas, shared the saint’s charitable legacy and distributed sweets and toys to the children. About 120 people, mainly children and their parents, attended the celebration. Food was shared among the attendees to foster a spirit of community.
