A more recent development involves the engagement of the Society of Christian Doctrine in South Bend, Indiana, United States. South Bend is notable for being the location of the 150-year-old University of Notre Dame. Facilitated by Ruth Lasseter, a friend of the SDC, and in collaboration with SDC administration, connections have been established, leading to reciprocal visits between Malta and South Bend to evaluate the potential progression of this initiative. Although there are currently no active Members in South Bend, a community of Associates and Friends of the SDC is emerging. Their main objective is the studying of St George Preca’s life and participating in the mission of the SDC through various gatherings and prayer services.
