Since the last visit to the Philippines, where the SDC members met the Redemptorist priests in Lipa, the relationship between the SDC members and the Redemptorist priests in St Albans has continued to grow stronger.
The SDC Members of St Albans were asked to deliver a session about the SDC’s tradition and charism to the eighteen novices and students of the Redemptorist community in the coming month of November.
Additionally, Fr Robin, the Redemptorist priest in charge of the youth ministry of the parish, invited the SDC Centre to participate in the first Friday of the month adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. This prayerful event took place on Friday, 4th October 2024 in the Holy Eucharist Parish of St Albans. Youths from the SDC Centre animated the adoration with music and hymn singing.
Fr Robin shared a reflection about Blessed Carlo Acutis and emphasised the importance of drawing closer to the Eucharist. A time for silent meditation helped the youth to immerse themselves in a deeper understanding of their relationship with Jesus in their lives.
After the adoration, the attendees shared fellowship in the church foyer, where some parents brought refreshments for everyone to share. They also had the opportunity to use the school facilities for some recreation time as well. Thanks be to God!
