Holy Communion in
Sagua la Grande

On 2nd June, feast of Corpus Christi, a group of children received Holy Communion in the parish church of Sagua la Grande. The day before, the SDC members organized a half-day retreat in the SDC Centre for the children and their parents.
It was a special occasion because five of them were prepared in an SDC outreach where for the last 5 years the members have been imparting catechism lessons every Sunday morning and also accompanying the children to Sunday Mass in the evening.
It is always very encouraging to see that in Cuba, a communist state, people are still, as Pope John Paul II put it, “hungry for God”.
