Activities in Puente Piedra (Perù)

On 10 September, the members at Puente Piedra SDC Centre in Peru were invited to share reflections with young people at the parish of Rosa Luz, in preparation for the Encuentro Juvenil Carabayllo – a diocesan encounter for young people. The theme was ‘Mary hurried to help Elisabeth’. The meeting also provided the opportunity for the members to speak about the SDC and invite the young people to activities organised at the Centre.
On Friday 27 October, a celebration for children and parents was organised to mark the feast of the Señor de los Milagros (Our Lord of the Miracles). This feast is linked to a strong devotion to the image of the Crucified Christ in Lima. The members shared a reflection on the crucified Christ based on the Founder’s writings.
On Sunday 29 October, an outing for children and parents was organised in the hilly region of Lomas de Primavera in Carabayllo. After a walk in the hills, all joined together in a football match, with children and youths from the Santa Maria outreach area. The evening ended with mass in a nearby chapel.
