A Visit to Portland Bay Lodge (St Albans)

Between January 13 and 17, 2025, the SDC Members from St Albans organised a week-long experience at Portland Bay Lodge, Victoria. The event provided a deeper insight into the SDC’s mission and featured a presentation on St. Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first saint and a former parishioner at All Saints Church in Portland. Participants attended Mass, received a talk from the local priest, and learned about St. Mary MacKillop’s role as a sacristan. Youth members contributed by assisting with meal preparations. Prayer and reflection were integral parts of the daily schedule. The event strengthened friendships and created lasting memories for all involved.
