St Michael the Archangel, we know that Satan despises humanity and has sought our destruction from the very beginning. As Christ Himself revealed, the devil is a murderer from the start, a liar, and the father of lies. Yet we also know that you, in your love for us, have shown your radiant presence on our behalf and triumphed over Satan and his hosts. For this reason, we turn to you: shield us from his deceits and defend us in the battle we fight against him, until at last we reach heaven, where you are crowned in glory, reigning forever with your companions, bearing the title of true defender of God’s honor and majesty.
