On Friday 19th September 2025, the week-long event WATCH, REFLECT, ACT came to a close with the screening of the film Tinā. The event, held at the DĦS Conference Centre, focused on the theme of education.
Tinā, a New Zealand drama released in 2024 and directed by Miki Magasiva, follows the story of a music teacher navigating the challenges of life and teaching in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake.
Ahead of the screening, Prof. Carmen Dalli shared her reflections on the role of the educator, emphasising not only the importance of passion for one’s subject but also the love, care, and compassion a teacher is called to extend towards their students.
After the film, participants enjoyed an informal gathering, exchanging thoughts and impressions over refreshments.
