Visit to the SDC Centre of Puente Piedra (Peru)

The Superior General and the Assistant Superior General visited the SDC Centre of Puente Piedra, Peru, from 4 to 13 August 2026. During their stay, they spent time with the members, met the young people who regularly attend the centre, and engaged with those who collaborate closely with the SDC members in their apostolate, particularly the local parish priests.
A number of sessions were dedicated to the formation of the children and young people. The Superior General and the Assistant Superior General led reflections and question-and-answer sessions, enabling participants to deepen their understanding of the SDC, its spirituality, vocation and mission. One of the most anticipated evenings was Friday, 7 August, when the youth gathered to pray the Vestis Honoris, followed by a reflection by the Superior General and a friendly football match.
A significant moment was the meeting with the Bishop of Carabayllo, the Most Rev. Neri Menor Vargas OFM, during which they discussed the pastoral work of the SDC and its contribution to the local Church.
On Sunday, 9 August, children and adolescents, together with their parents, took part in an outing to Lomas de Primavera. The day provided an informal setting for fellowship and helped strengthen the bonds among the families connected with the SDC.
Another important moment was the visit to the Sagrado Corazón Educational Institute, where one of the SDC members currently serves as a teacher. After meeting the school administration, the Superior General and the Assistant Superior General joined several classes and spoke to the students about the SDC vocation and the journey of vocational discernment.
Let us continue to pray for the SDC members serving in Puente Piedra and for all the children, adolescents and families they accompany. May the Lord strengthen them in their mission and make their apostolate an ever more fruitful witness to the Gospel.
