The SDC Centre of St Albans organised a Last Supper play for children attending catechism classes at the centre. Through this role-play, the children re-enacted what Jesus did during this profoundly important moment on the night before his Passion. The event highlighted the institution of the Eucharist and the washing of the Apostles’ feet. The parents of the children involved in the drama took part by washing their own children’s feet.
This re-enactment conveyed the message that every Christian is called to imitate the actions of Jesus Christ by loving others through service. This is the vocation of parents in their daily lives, that is to serve their children and give themselves wholeheartedly to their families.
A special word of praise goes to the children who took part in the drama. They did an excellent job in imagining themselves at the Last Supper with Jesus and in reliving these meaningful moments.
