The Curé of Ars (Malta)

To mark the 100th anniversary of the canonisation of St John Mary Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests, the SDC invited all diocesan priests and religious clergy to a special gathering at the Auditorium in Blata l-Bajda. The meeting, held on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, recalled the holy life of this humble priest who dedicated his entire life to the parishioners of Ars with great love and a deep spirit of penance.
The powerful witness of humility, perseverance, and unconditional love shown by this saint inspires not only all those called to the priesthood, but every Christian who seeks to give themselves wholeheartedly to God.
Let us pray that the Lord continues to grant the Church holy priests who serve him lovingly, following the example of Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd.
