Solemn Mass on the Liturgical Feast of St George Preca (Malta)

On Friday, 9 May 2025, the Archbishop of Malta, Mgr Charles J. Scicluna, concelebrated a solemn Mass on the feast of St George Preca at the Auditorium of the Society of Christian Doctrine, Blata l-Bajda. He was accompanied by Mgr Joe Alessandro OFM, Fr Kevin Scicluna (Ecclesiastical Assistant), and several other priests.
Mgr Scicluna encouraged those present to persevere in prayer in order to come to a deeper understanding of God’s love and mercy, following the example of St George Preca. He also invited the faithful to pray for the grace to experience the sweetness of God in their lives.
A large congregation gathered to give thanks to God for all that the Lord has done for Malta and beyond through the life and mission of St George Preca. Following the Mass, there was a moment of silent prayer before the image and relics of the saint.
Let us continue to pray that many more people may grow in faith, hope, and love through the message of the Gospel.
