Sajda 2026 (Gozo)

On Thursday, 10 September 2026, the Delegation of Malta and Gozo organised Sajda 2026 at the SDC centre in Victoria, Gozo. Open to the general public, the event offered visitors an opportunity to learn more about the Society of Christian Doctrine (SDC), with various stands and displays presenting different aspects of its life, mission and spirituality.
Adult visitors were given a complimentary copy of the Gospel according to St Matthew, while children and adolescents received a newly published Maltese book entitled Il-Fidi Kollox!. Through colourful comic-style illustrations, the publication presents episodes from the life of St George Preca in a way designed to appeal particularly to younger readers.
Librerija Preca also had a stand offering a selection of religious books at discounted prices.
The programme also provided opportunities for prayer and reflection. A dedicated space was set aside for silent prayer and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, while another room was available for those wishing to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Presentations on the lives of Eugenio Borg, the first Superior General of the SDC, and Gilbert Simiana offered visitors an insight into their lives and witness of faith.
During the evening, the Assistant Superior General delivered a reflective talk on the beauty of the Catholic faith and practical ways of cultivating and living it in today’s world. Meanwhile, children and adolescents took part in a separate session prepared especially for them. The Superior General was also present and brought the gathering to a close with a message to those present.
The evening concluded in a warm and informal atmosphere, with refreshments served to those present. Children also had the opportunity to take part in organised games and activities in the yard.
Sajda 2026 will also be held in Malta from 17 to 19 September 2026 at the DĦS Conference Centre in Santa Venera.
