Retreats for Candidates (Malta)

Between 24 and 26 of October 2025, fifteen SDC candidates took part in a weekend retreat at Dar il-Ħanin Samaritan Conference Centre, led by Fr Keith Bonnici. The retreat’s theme, “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor 9,7), invited participants to reflect deeply on silence, obedience, familiarity and hospitality, and purity of heart. The programme included ample time for both personal prayer and communal reflection.
The following weekend, on the 2nd of November, six pre-candidates participated in a one-day retreat focusing on being light of the world and salt of the earth, as well as on the meaning of the washing of the feet.
These moments of prayer and reflection provide valuable opportunities for candidates and pre-candidates to grow in their relationship with God and to strengthen their sense of community.
