The Lord God has graciously blessed the Society of Christian Doctrine (SDC) with five new members on Saturday, 27 December 2025. SDC members and candidates, elects, family members and friends of the SDC were present for the Incorporation Ceremony to pray and give thanks to God as five young men, after years of formation, became full members of the SDC.
In his address, the SDC member Mario Bezzina reminded these five young men, that the grace of the vocation, which the Lord God is granting them, will bring about three changes in their lives. They will be marked by the virtue of meekness and gentleness, which will lead them to sincere forgiveness of one’s neighbour. They will also be given the grace that, through a life of prayer as members, they will have the opportunity to adore the Lord God throughout their lives. The third change is faithful living according to the Rule of Life, which from today will become their guide on the path to holiness.
The Superior General shared his message on this beautiful occasion for the SDC and offered his congratulations to those members who are commemorating the 50th, 60th and 70th anniversaries of their incorporation. We give thanks to the Lord God for them.
At the end of the ceremony, Fr Kevin Schembri, the Ecclesiastical Assistant, conveyed the Archbishop’s message to the new members whilst encouraged them to be SDC members who bring hope, mercy and peace.
The ceremony was celebrated in a spirit of joy and prayer.
As we give thanks to the Lord God for David Abela, Jake Bezzina, Gilbert Borg, Wayne Borg and Joseph Mizzi, let us commit ourselves to praying for them, that they may live their vocation authentically and continue to do God’s will through their calling within the Society.
