The SDC candidates of the Delegation of Malta and Gozo, together with their curators, gathered at St Michael School on Saturday, 3 January 2026, for their annual get-together held at the beginning of each year.
The event began with small groups session in the school hall, during which each person shared with the group the story behind his name. This activity served as an introduction to the theme of the formal meeting held in the school chapel. Under the title “And you shall name him Jesus”, the participants reflected on the significance of the holy name of Jesus and on how this name should be given veneration and adoration, since it is the name of the Son of God, the Saviour.
At the conclusion of this reflective session, the five new members, who have now completed the formation course, and thus, are no longer part of the group of candidates, shared their message with their peers. They encouraged them to continue taking their formation seriously and not to be afraid to accept God’s calling for them. This part concluded with a message from the Superior General.
The second part of the programme, which was more social in nature, took place in the school hall, where food and drinks were shared. This was followed by a drama prepared and well perfomed by a number of candidates.
Let us continue to pray for all the SDC candidates, that the formation they are receiving may help them to discern God’s call in their lives.
