Despite the bitter winter weather in Melbourne, a group of brave young adults from the SDC Centre of St Albans and Holy Eucharist Parish joined forces for a heartwarming initiative to support the homeless on Saturday 21 June 2025.
Thanks to the generous contributions of parishioners, food and essential items were purchased in the weeks leading up to the distribution. The team began their outreach with a moment of prayer and a blessing from Fr Robin CSsR, before preparing and packing the items.
The participants distributed the items to those in need, aiming to bring a sense of comfort and dignity to people experiencing homelessness during the colder months.
The project reflected a genuine spirit of service and mission, embodying the Christian calling to care for those most vulnerable, especially during the harsh winter days in Melbourne. This effort stood as a testament to the strength of community, compassion, and faith in action.
