A number of families, children, young people and adults gathered in front of the Church of Our Lady of Victory in Valletta on Thursday, 18 December 2025, for the Demonstration of Baby Jesus. Following a welcome message by the Delegate of the Superior General, the Superior General encouraged those present to be true devotees of Baby Jesus by committing themselves to becoming more like him, since, as taught by St George Preca, that true devotion lies in imitation.
Bishop George Frendo led the opening prayer, after which the participants processed along St Zachary Street towards St John’s Co-Cathedral, singing beautiful Christmas carols. At the Co-Cathedral, Baby Jesus was welcomed with great joy by the children, several of whom recited Christmas poems.
In his message, Bishop Frendo encouraged everyone to share the joy of Baby Jesus with others, especially those in need. This was followed by a time of reflection on obedience, taken from the writing of St George Preca, The School of Bethlehem.
The demonstration then continued along Republic Street back to the Church of Our Lady of Victory. There, a young boy recited the final Christmas poem, and the event concluded with a prayer to Our Lady.
