The demonstration of Baby Jesus in Lurín, Peru, took place on Tuesday, 23 December 2025. Children and adoloscents, together with their parents and other members of the community, gathered at the SDC centre of Lurín, from where the procession set off and made its way through the streets of Lurín, accompanied by the singing of Christmas carols.
The procession included seven stops, at the homes of families or at places where people were gathered. At each stop, passages from the Gospel, reflections by Saint George Preca, and prayers were shared.
It is customary in Lurín for the Baby Jesus not to be carried on a platform, but instead to be held in the arms of a member of the family at whose home the procession stops.
The procession concluded at the SDC centre, where Christmas poems and drama related to the nativity of Jesus were performed. Afterwards, the children and adolescents receive their Christmas gifts from the SDC members.
In a similar way, on Sunday 21 December, a demostration was held in Manchay, where the SDC members of the Lurín visit regularly to support children in their formation and preparation for the sacraments.
