To mark the 28th anniversary of the death of Gilbert Simiana, a teenager who attended the SDC centre of Rabat and lived an exemplary life that continues to inspire not only young people but also adults, a number of Masses were celebrated. During these celebrations, Gilbert’s life was remembered while praise was offered to the Lord God for the many graces he bestowed upon the world through him.
On 28 February and 1 March 2026, two Masses were held at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Blata l-Bajda. Another Mass was celebrated on Sunday morning, 1 March 2026, at the Collegiate Basilica of St Paul in Rabat. Members of the SDC Families Group were present, together with a good number of children and their parents.
The Secretary General shared a message about Gilbert Simiana, who was from the same parish of Rabat, explaining how the life he lived continues to inspire everyone to become an authentic disciple of Jesus. He also highlighted how Gilbert Simiana is a model for children and adolescents to come to know and love Jesus from a young age.
