Ceremony of Candidates (Kenya)

On Sunday, 9 August 2026, the SDC Centre of Ruiru, Kenya, celebrated the Ceremony of Candidates of James Mambo and Moses Njuguna. Over recent years, these two young men have been following a programme of formation and discernment within the SDC.
Through this ceremony, James and Moses took a significant step in their journey of formation, committing themselves to live according to the teachings of Jesus and to keep their gaze fixed on Jesus Crucified, the one true Master of all.
The Director of Candidates of the Delegation of Malta, Daniel Micallef, who is currently visiting the SDC centre of Ruiru, together with a group of Maltese candidates, shared a reflection on the significance of the ceremony and the importance of remaining faithful disciples of Jesus.
A good number of religious, parents, members of the Friends of St George Preca Group, children and adolescents attended this joyful and significant occasion for the SDC centre.
Let us give thanks to God for these two young men who have expressed their desire to keep their gaze fixed on Jesus throughout all the days of their lives. May the Lord continue to guide and strengthen them on their journey of formation, discipleship and discernment.
