Celebrating the Feast of St Joseph (Malta)

On Wednesday, 19th March 2025, the SDC members and candidates in Malta and Gozo gathered at St Joseph Parish Church in Manikata to celebrate the feast of St Joseph. The day commenced with Holy Mass, followed by a prayerful celebration that highlighted the virtues of this great saint. The event concluded with an address by the Superior General, who encouraged the members and candidates to turn to St Joseph on this special occasion, which fittingly fell on a Wednesday, the day of the week particularly dedicated to him. He urged the members to seek St Joseph’s intercession for the grace of perseverance in the SDC and the authentic living of its spirituality. Likewise, he encouraged the candidates (youth in formation) to pray for the courage and strength to embrace the SDC vocation.
Following this, the participants walked from Manikata Parish Church to the SDC Centre of Mellieħa, where they shared a snack and enjoyed a time of fellowship. In the main chapel of the SDC Centre, those present prayed the Holy Rosary, meditating on mysteries that focused on key moments in the life of St Joseph.
