On Saturday 17 August 2024, the SDC Centre in St Albans (Melbourne) has organised a day with the Redemptorists Parish Priests where teens from the SDC Centre packed and distributed donated food to the homeless people in the City of Melbourne.
The number of homeless people of any given age is increasing in our times and thus it was an opportunity to come close to the marginalised and the forgotten by the people in the street. The group packed about 30 food bags that consisted of fruit, sandwiches, juices and snacks. Hopefully, this will serve these homeless people a few nights outside in the cold sleeping outside in the streets.
Afterwards, the teens enjoyed some fellowship by sharing the experiences of the day.
“And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded” (Mt 10: 42).
