On Saturday, 11th April 2026, on the eve of Divine Mercy Sunday, also known as Dominica in albis, SDC member Warren Vella, currently the local superior of the SDC centre of Durrës, Albania, led a catechetical reflection for a group of neophytes who had been baptised during the Easter Vigil in the Archdiocese of Tirana-Durrës. During the reflection, they were reminded of the importance of remaining true witnesses to Our Lord Jesus Christ, regardless of the challenges they may encounter.
On this occasion, the neophytes laid aside the white garments worn at their baptism, placing them upon the relics of the Blessed Albanian martyrs.
The Archdiocese of Tirana-Durrës is presently experiencing a revival, with many young people drawing closer to the Catholic Church through catechetical programmes. In 2025, nearly 400 young people and adults were baptised across the archdiocese. Praise be to God.
