A Journey of Self-Discovery

On Saturday, 11 April 2026, the members of the SDC Centre of St Albans organised a day retreat for the youth and young adults who attend the centre. The theme of the day was A Journey of Self-Discovery. The retreat was attended by an encouraging number of 30 young people.

The morning session was facilitated by Br Foua Peato SDB (a Salesian seminarian), who engaged the participants with an action song and spoke about the importance of confidence when facing life’s struggles and challenges. Participants were also given the opportunity to share, through group discussions, how one may discover oneself and commit one’s life to God.

In the afternoon, following a BBQ lunch, the youth enjoyed playing volleyball in the courtyard. The final session of the retreat included personal testimonies from two young men, who shared their faith experiences with the group; their words were both inspiring and uplifting.

The day was further enlivened by interactive games of charades, which proved enjoyable and entertaining for everyone.

Thanks be to God for the many blessings bestowed upon these participants during the retreat. May it bring about the desired transformation in their hearts and lives.
